About Luton, ENG
Luton ( (listen)) is a town, borough and unitary authority situated in Bedfordshire, south east England, but in the East of England region for administrative purposes. It has a population of 213,052 (mid-2019 est.) and is one of the most populous towns without city status in the United Kingdom. It is also the most populous town in Bedfordshire. The town is situated on the River Lea, about 30 miles (50 km) north-northwest of London. The town's foundation dates to the sixth century as a Saxon outpost on the River Lea, from which Luton derives its name. Luton is recorded in the Domesday Book as Loitone and Lintone and one of the largest churches in Bedfordshire, St Mary's Church, was built in the 12th century. There are local museums which explore Luton's history in Wardown Park and Stockwood Park.Luton was for many years famous for hatmaking, and also had a large Vauxhall Motors factory. Car production at the plant began in 1905 and continued until the plant's closure in 2002. Production of commercial vehicles continues, and the head office of Vauxhall Motors was for many years in the town, but has now relocated in 2019 to the village of Chalton, Bedfordshire on the northern border of the Borough of Luton. London Luton Airport opened in 1938, and is now one of Britain's major airports, with three railway stations also in the town.

Our heating was not working due to the electrics failing. Luckily for us, Mo the electrician turned up and quickly identified the problem which was water damage to our garden lights. He then went the extra mile to check and secure the rest of the garden lighting to ensure it wouldn’t happen again. I was very pleased with the level of service and professionalism as well as how polite Mo was. I have met a lot of tradesmen recently due to renovating our house and sadly this is rare these days. It is great to see someone who takes pride in their work.

The door frame had splintered off, making the latch useless. My wife decided to use this company to fix the problem while I was out. After telling her a completely new latch needed to be installed, we were then invoiced £75 for the latch which, a quick look online shows retails at between £15-25. I understand there's mark-ups, a business needs a profit, but that amount seems scandalous. By my wife's account the man who installed it was very nice and helpful, but at £80 labour for half an hour's work, I should hope so. All-in-all a very overpriced service, look elsewhere.
